Curtis W. Coleman is Cofounder and former President and Chief Executive Officer of Safe Foods Corporation, one of the fastest growing pathogen-control food safety companies in the United States. Founded in January 1999, the company is helping make food safer on four continents, an issue that has a major impact on U.S. health policy, consumer confidence, international trade, national security, and America’s ability to compete and trade with international partners.  Mr. Coleman stepped aside from his position as CEO of Safe Foods on August 31, 2009 to focus 100% of his time on his campaign to represent Arkansas in the U.S. Senate seat currently occupied by Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D).

Curtis regularly lectures on team building and servant leadership in the Emerging Leaders program of the University of Arkansas’ Sam M. Walton School of Business Center for Management and Executive Development, where students can reap the benefits of Curtis’ international business experience and extraordinary entrepreneurial leadership skills.

2005 Entrepreneur of the Year

In 2005, Curtis was named the winner of the Arkansas’ Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Clinton Presidential Library. In announcing their selection, the Award committee stated that “he [Coleman] most exhibited the goals, attitudes, and ethics we hope to see in Arkansas’ entrepreneurs. He cares deeply for his customers and for his employees as well, and he reflects that in the way he chooses to run his business.”

Huckabee Campaign and Beyond

Curtis managed Mike Huckabee’s first statewide campaign for the U.S. Senate in 1992, providing the groundwork for his successful elections as lieutenant governor the next year, and his re-election as governor in 1998. He was a national fundraiser for Huckabee’s 2008 presidential campaign and he remains active in Arkansas politics today.
