Coleman: “To rescue the U.S. from its terminal dependency on external energy sources, we must develop every available source of American energy.”
(NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – 15 MAY 2010) Conservative Republican U.S. Senate candidate Curtis Coleman released his “Energy for America” proposals today as part of his “Restoring the American Dream” policy proposals. “To rescue the U.S. from its terminal dependency on external energy sources, we must develop every available source of American energy,” Coleman said. “We must learn everything we can from the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, but then we must press resolutely forward to energy independence.”
Coleman’s proposals include:
- • The development of nuclear-generated energy.
• Drilling for oil both off shore and inland, including ANWR.
• The development of a natural gas retail distribution infrastructure that will allow trucks, buses and cars to utilize natural gas.
• The liquefaction of coal to crude oil.
• Dedicated energy crops, such as switch grass, for the production of transportation fuel.
• Development of wind and solar energy as supplemental to other energy sources.
• Opposition to cap and trade.
• Reduction of the EPA’s authority.
