Rasmussen Reports Coleman Leads Lincoln 48% to 36%

April 7th, 2010 by Webmaster

The real and remarkable story from the latest Rasmussen Reports poll on the Arkansas Republican U.S. Senate race is that a candidate who has never run for office or held public office is in a statistical dead heat with a current congressman and three state senators…and significantly leading a U.S. Senator and the Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas.

The April 1st Rasmussen Reports poll shows Little Rock businessman and conservative Republican Curtis Coleman within the margin of error (+/- 4.5 percentage points) when Coleman is measured against Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) along with two current state senators, one former state senator, and a sitting U.S. Congressman.  Coleman leads Lincoln by 12 percentage points, 48% to 36%, in the poll of 500 likely Arkansas voters conducted on March 30, 2010.  Coleman is cofounder and the former President and CEO of Arkansas-based Safe Foods Corporation.

“We’ve got too many people making the rules who’ve never played in the game,” Coleman said.  “We desperately need bold new leadership from real-world people who can bring real-world solutions to Congress.  We need people who’ve had to make a payroll and who’ve provided health insurance for their employees, people who understand the implications of the legislation and regulations they’re creating.”

“I understand that my job as a United States Senator will be to faithfully represent the people of Arkansas by doing that they think is best. I will be the employee.  Arkansans will be the employer.  It will be my job to represent them in the U.S. Senate by following the wishes and instructions of my employers.  That’s the first real-world solution that must be immediately restored to the U.S. Senate.”

I understand the concept of keeping your powder dry, however, when can we expect to see Curtis and the other candidates begin to tussel in the media. Friends I talk with say that appart from being anti Lincoln, they have little knowledge of those running against her.

For these past months after hearing you in Hot Springs Village, I believe you are our personal cure for the sickness in the Congress. I can hardly wait to get more involved in supporting your commitment. Keep it going. Ellie and I are with you! Keep on with your messages.

We’ll keep you in our prayers.
