U.S. Senate Candidate Curtis Coleman Wins AR GOP Straw Poll

January 29th, 2010 by Webmaster

(LITTLE ROCK, AR – 24 JANUARY 2010) Conservative Republican U.S. Senate candidate Curtis Coleman was awarded his second straw poll victory by grassroots workers and party activists at the Arkansas 3rd Congressional District’s Republican Straw Poll in Fayetteville, AR this weekend.  Coleman received 43 percent of the 101 votes cast, followed by state Senator Gilbert Baker with 20 percent.   Each of the other seven announced candidates in the Arkansas Republican U.S. Senate primary garnered less than 10 votes each.

“This is a major victory and an indicator of the growing strength and momentum on our campaign,” Coleman said.  “I am honored by the confidence expressed in me by these leaders of the Republican Party of Arkansas.  We expect to turn this into a victory in May and again in November.”

Eight of the nine U.S. Senate candidates attended the two-day events in Fayetteville, AR over the weekend, including participation in a candidates forum the night before the straw poll.

Coleman also won an Arkansas 4thDistrict GOP straw poll in November and narrowly missed winning a state-wide straw in December by only 2 points.

The problem with this country is BOTH the Democrats and Republicans. Anyone who seriously thinks that one side isn’t corrupt or slaves to Corporate America hasn’t done an adequate job of paying attention. To the Republicans: The GW administration will go down in History as one of the worst administrations. They eroded your constitutional rights, expanded the power of the wealthy elite, invaded countries under false pretenses, destroyed diplomatic relations with the rest of the world, and spent money like it was going out of style. To the Democrats: Obama is a dud. He promised much and has turned out to be another corporate lackey. He made deals with big pharma to ensure you could not get your medication cheaper elsewhere, he flip flopped on military tribunals, he refuses to fix health care properly through nationalization or single payer, he populates his inner circle with more Wall Street insiders, he spends money on bailouts and useless stimulus packages.
